Surfing Double Island Point

Double Island Point is famous for one of the longest right-hand point waves in Queensland, peeling along the northern side of the headland inside the Great Sandy National Park. Rides can go on for hundreds of metres, and the gentle, wally shape makes it a dream wave for longboarders.

Getting there is part of the trip: it is reached by four-wheel drive along the beach from Noosa North Shore or Rainbow Beach, which means planning around the tides and carrying a vehicle permit for the national park.
